TECHNICAL SUPPORT INFORMATION

 
 
 
Occasionally, you may have difficulties accessing one of the Cobb Virtual Library resources from your home computer. The CCSD Media Services Department checks the access to these resources nightly to make sure they are working correctly and to report any problems to the district and to the vendors.  However, due to the technical aspects of these resources, your home computer software, connection, and browser configurations, problems may still arise.   In order to resolve the problem effectively we ask that you use the directions below.  Please talk with your school media specialist if you have additional questions.

 
BASIC TROUBLESHOOTING TIPS
 
  • Try using the "Text Version" of the Cobb Virtual Library (link available from the main CVL page)
  • Verify the login and password being used to access the resources
  • Try a different Cobb Virtual Library resource to see if the problem is unique to one resource
  • Exit your browser, then re-open it to see if the problem is resolved
  • Clear the cache in your browser, close the browser, and re-open the browser to try the page again
  • Reboot your computer and try the resource again
MEDIA CENTER & CCSD MEDIA SERVICES TECHNICAL SUPPORT
 
  • Report technical difficulties to your school media specialist using the Report a Problem Form
  • Media specialists will check to see if there are any notifications of district-wide problems
  • Media specialists will check to see if they can access the resource from home
  • Media specialists will report problems to the CCSD Media Services Department
  • If the problem is due to your specific computer configuration or provider, you will need to work with your provider or the specific vendor to resolve the issue
